5 minutes walk away from Ximen MRT station exit 6, it can be quite challenging knowing which street to turn when main street streams into smaller streets buzzing with activities. Hubby and I often get distracted by the fragrant aroma of street food from from street vendors/peddlers and would lose our way back to the hotel.
We stayed in Rainbow Hotel once in 2010 and my verdict was "never ever again". Despite the seeming convenience, that is probably the only advantage this dated hotel has. The rooms were dark and tiny, and the bathtub was filthy. For the price paid, there are better accommodation (and sometimes cheaper) within the vicinity. Yes, it's a thumbs down for me, but you are always welcome to experience it for yourself
note: Rainbow Hotel in Mandarin is 長虹大飯店Chang Hong Da Fan Dian and not the literal translation 彩虹酒店 Cai Hong Jiu Dian. Hope that helps you avoid weird stares when asking for directions :)
With the two of us squeezing on the bed, there's not much room to open our luggage
The simple dated facilities, and yes the TV has adult-content channels
Very cramp, very cramp...
Looks clean from afar... but it's so filthy and old that we don't even dare to soak ourselves in the bathtub. The water also kept overflowing and the toilet floor would be wet
